Lightning didn't strike twice here, no sir-ee. The first movie was dumb fun, this one's just dumb. Feels like the hastily slapped-together cash grab that it is. And yet, the CGI Scorpion King at the end is so hilariously awful that it demands to be seen at least once in your life.

Lots of action but no real story, just action sequences loosely tied together in order to get you to the next scene where something else will blow up or something along those lines. A pity because The Mummy was far more entertaining. Although the action in this movie is fun the serious lack of any attempt at a plausable plot drags it down from good to mediocre.

While the first one was effective as an adventure in the mold of Indiana Jones, this one recycles and rehashes the interesting elements, and introduces annoying elements such as the irritatingly precocious bratty child.
