Another day, another faux Egyptian priest up to no good. This time, it's John Carradine slurping his lips over the eminently slurpable Ramsay Ames, who appears to be the reincarnation of the mummy Kharis's old ladylove. The fact that the hero actually fails and the leading lady meets a reasonably grim fate makes for a strong ending to an otherwise repetitive entry in the series.

One more entry to the Mummy franchise, that wasn't so good to begin with. Setting this film in American college campus was a strange decision. All twists are revealed during first 5 minutes, or if you have seen previous Mummy films you'll know what will happen right from the start, because story is the same with slight variations. I must admit ending and a few surprise points.

At first I really disliked this, but it resolved into something pretty interesting. The image of Chaney slouching down that long staircase is probably the most evocative of the whole Kharis series, and on the whole it seemed to acknowledge the weirdness of a mummy in America more than the others.

I'm burnt out on The Mummy by now, but if I saw this in isolation I'd probably dig it a little more. Ames looks sell the otherworldiness of the curse, Carradine is cool, AND it continues a new trend of downbeat endings! So it's not all bad. The last 8 minutes do have a looped sound effect of a little dog barking. For every good thing I find, I'm hit back with something annoying and bad.

There is something to be said of a certain satisfaction in the culmination that reminds me there's more than just camp value this series offers. Hoo boy do you have to sift through the crap to get there, though. Looking forward to how the next (and last) one screws it all up.

Originally I found this to be a mess with an unfocused script. Now after watching this again I've come to appreciate its red herrings, foreshadowing and general theme of eternal curses. This goes back to core Mummy stuff in a big way with its plot and only now do I admire how well it understood the dramatic arch of the series. Underrated.

I found this to be generally boring and I though Tom Hervey was an asshole to Amina. I did like the ending which was certainly different than I was expecting.

It always cracks me up when middle-aged men pretend to be spry young college students. The ending was refreshingly bleak. All in all, not a bad entry in the mummy series.

Per usual the Mummy films are slow and struggles to keep the suspense flowing. Yet it has a hypnotic presence with some key scenes which make up for it. Lon Chaney Jr. version of the Mummy was a brutal visual. One of the more fierce monsters he did.

Less unintentional camp than the previous movie, but the same in plot. The Egyptian tomb keeper returns to the same US town & in a 3rd act reversal winds up wanting to change the plans bc he’s so taken w/ the damsel in distress. This doesn’t work out leaving the hero to give chase (this time with a little Lassie-like dog - for the kids). The ending however is truly unexpected. It definitely doesn’t excuse the sameness before but it’s short, has a quick pace & I had low expectations.
