The Murder Clinic

This sounded like it would be a classic but it ended up being a bore.

Period/gothic giallo sounds very intriguing, but sadly Murder Clinic doesn’t deliver. Visually it’s very stylish and rivals the work of Bava and Freda from the same period, but Elio Scardamaglia’s direction is quite mundane and the film starts to drag. Plot is also very basic and if you’ve seen a couple of these, you’ll guess where it’s heading. The film could have also benefited from better make-up FX. It was fun to see Berger in a role like this. Worth it for fans of Italo gothic.
