Double barrelled cannons, wire-fu with swords, various Chinese weapons made to look vaguely French. Running up the side of a vertical tower holding on to a rope having fights with other people doing the same. On the side of a tower. With swords. English accents despite it being set in France and an American film. Do these things appeal to you? If they do, watch a different film because their execution in this one is terrible.

Another one of those movies that just drags and is miserable until the final fight, when it is already too late to save the film.

A lousy imitation of "hong-cong" action and an even worse attempt at "The Three Musketeers."

Some cool action sequences, but not enough to hold the movie together.

Good action, okay acting, nearly acceptable use of musketeers mythos, and it just goes down from there. Total crap!

Enjoyable if inessential go-round with the Musketeers is a little too timid in its introduction of an Asian influence in its swashbuckling scenes – rather than providing anything unique or distinctive, it feels more like someone who knows nothing about “traditional” swashbuckling scenes attempting to direct one, leaving the fight scenes themselves a bit hurried and confused. Worthwhile for its good cast; Roth can play a sleazy villain in his sleep, but he energises the film whenever he appears.

Ugly-dark, plodding, and terribly written. I can only hope it gets better, but it was not promising. (DNF)

The fight scenes in this movie were all that made The Musketeer enjoyable on any level. Visually entertaining, but lacking in almost every other element.

A great film very Mask of Zorro/Princess Bride and comparable to The Man in the Iron Mask. If you like any of these films I'd definitely watch this movie!

The ladder fight is a lot of fun, and Tim Roth turns in a great performance. Other than that, though, it's really bland. Dialogue is more miss than hit, and the story just trudges along. If you're looking for a good Musketeer fix, go with the Disney version or The Man in the Iron Mask.

Let me be clear: I intellectually acknowledge its awfulness on every level. But on the other hand, GODDAMN LADDER FIGHT

Well the action is good and the acting is alright but everything else is just plain bad. So bad, in fact, that even in this action movie you begin to notice how awful everything but the action is. Disappointing.
