Does an awful lot with awfully little. With hardly any dialogue and no particularly likable characters you'd think a movie about a chase through the jungle would quickly run out of steam, but it's gripping to the end. The editing could be better but the film is visually rich, the pacing is excellent and the commentary on human nature is simple but effective.

Though the film does have some novels scenes, and the distilled primal chase is quite entertaining, the film has not aged well, especially in the editing department. Still, it's definitely worth watching.

A well done movie that really makes use of the locations. There are a lot of stock footage used but it was used well and helped set the tone of the movie. Cornel Wilde was believable in the role of the safari guide and the pursuers were believable as well.

Film needing to be viewed with production year in mind. Yes, you could say it's generic & pro colonising whites but the "1966" says pretty radical for its time & extremely well done. IMHO very even handed, natives shown respectfully in a time & place of Apartheid ALA Zulu. If you have not seen a "single person on the run V a pack of warriors" eg "Run of the Arrow", Apocalypto this will be revolutionary & gripping. Even if you have this is highly entertaining. Bonus if you spot the pesky car LOL

African adventure movie stripped of glamor, movie stars and melodrama. Primal life and death struggle featuring impressive scenery from real African locations, and real African warriors. This Naked Prey guy is who Jeff Probst dreams of being!

Some sticky racism/xenophobia aside, I'm a sucker for most-dangerous-game films, and this no-nonsense feature-length chase scratches the itch.

As a Most Dangerous Game-esque adventure, it serves just fine. As social commentary, it's a bit lightweight in my opinion, but not inelegant. As for the craftsmanship, it's pretty good (except for one shot where a car passing by is clearly visible in the background). Overall, a fine film but not a particularly remarkable one.

The perspective is dated and patronisingly colonial, but as a film it is gripping to the end. Almost no dialogue and wonderful widescreen photography of the African bush. The tribal scenes are unique in my experience.

Ah, yes. We've all had days like these: Prancing nekkid around the wilderness, shooting hapless wildlife with bow and arrow, setting fire to shrubbery and killing the fuck out of the natives. This is how a true gentleman of the Empire spends his free time.

A white safari hunter (Cornel Wilde, who directed) is captured by an unnamed African tribe and sentenced to run for his life, with the tribe's warriors in pursuit. An attempt at a minimalist adventure film, it has a few effective moments but rarely engages the emotions; only the hunter's brief friendship with a young girl (Bella Randles) does so. Awfully repetitive and fairly sluggish, though the cinematography, music, and even-handed treatment of its African characters are commendable.

Cornel Wilde is on the run from angry tribesman in this low-key thriller set in the African wilderness. After a strong start featuring some barbaric killings, it generally keeps up a tight pace before running out of steam in the final third, finishing with more of a whimper than a roar. The location photography gives it a pleasant authenticity.

The gripping, hour-long chase in this is a thing to behold, and the African landscapes and wildlife are beautiful. The acting is, however, amateur, and the scenes with Man and Boy are fairly weak, despite being well intended.
