The New Lot

A respectable little film characterizing reactions of newly drafted soldiers and their reluctant response of being forced into the army. You'll see them warm-up to the idea over time.... and there's nothing more to this. Humble and fairly realistic war effort by none other than Carol Reed. Apparently too much so, as the Army felt it was too downbeat and ordered it remade, which became The Way Ahead (1944).
