The Night Before Christmas

A fun little Christmas film that I might add to my yearly Christmas watch list.

Visually, a little on the dull side; this was made before D.W. Griffith invented the closeup, so medium shots all around. I am reminded of how movies used to be perceived as theater for poor people. (Boy, have times changed.) OTOH it's interesting to see how little the customs of Christmas and the Santa Claus myth have changed in over a hundred years, and anybody who's ever been a kid can relate to the Christmas Eve restlessness. The subsequent pillow fight is also fun
