It's like a vampire but instead of blood it sucks the interest out of you.

I'm torn between where to rate this, because it straddles the line of "awful" and "so awful it's good" I'm going to instead lean towards simply awful, as the ending of it is a bit of a letdown, and it does drag throughout the entire film.

I found it to be a pretty solid horror movie. It's quite dated as tabloids don't have quite the same meaning to anyone born with accessible internet for their whole life. It's unfortunate that the vampire's face is on the poster since that is the big reveal. I enjoyed the over-the-top acting. It's a product of it's time but very watchable and enjoyable.

I guess it was marginally better than the time I woke up in an ice-filled bathtub with a note that said to call 911 right away. I wonder what the hell that was all about.

Stephen King masterfully weaves an intriguing tale of suspense and impending madness. Of course I'm referring to "The Shining". "Night Flier", on the other hand, sucked bum and isn't worth the effort it would take to punch every one involved in the collective jimmies for producing this ludicrous trainwreck. Still the hero's name is Rick Dees, and that made me laugh a little.

I mean, it feels like a movie length X-Files episode, but it gets massive propulsion from the sheer asshole energy emanating from Miguel Ferrer. He's up there with 1980's/1990's James Woods.

This is another one of those short King stories that will only work in print. Unless you had some sort of perfect combination of actor, director and screenwriter. So just to let you know, Pavia, and Miguel Ferrer are not that perfect combination. That being said, it is not anywhere near, one of the worst King adaptations.

One of the few on-target adaptations of a Stephen King story

Miguel Ferrer was pretty fantastic in this, despite it being a thoroughly mediocre adaptation of good King short story.

Kinda works! The editing and pacing is outdated, there isn't enough action or thrills, but it's pretty solidly creepy.

A nice performance by Ferrer in this creepy King adaptation that shouldn't work but does.

This is some kind of unsung classic in my opinion, never mind the naysayers. It's a creepy and creative approach to the old vampire tale, with a lonely mood that fits the main character's nasty personality. I have to give it credit for making me care about what was happening to a guy who's a total asshole.
