The Night of the Party (1935) is another one of Michael Powell's obscure early films. Enjoyable quickie with a respectable cast of Leslie Banks, Ian Hunter, Jane Baxter & Malcolm Keen, to name a few. While the murder plot is enjoyable, I found most amusement in the very British characters. Almost too Brrrritish with their many quirks and amusing replies! By this point in his career Powell was starting to show his tremendous skills as a film maker, even for a minor mystery like this.
