Stronger than Rollin's debut. Some impressive locations, esp. the enormous estate where the latter part takes place. I preferred the mysterious beginning when we don’t know where it’s heading. It gets more traditional until the delightfully strange ending, which reminded me of Twin Peaks’ Black Lodge. It still has a home-made feel, like the animal masks which manage to be both silly and sinister. I still wouldn’t call this a good film, but it’s definitely worth a watch for adventurous viewers.
