The Nun and the Devil

The first nunsploitation film I've seen: a story of power, ambition, innocent love, betrayal, the cruelties of convent life and the horror of the inquisition. This 1970s Italian film is chock full of the pulpy stuff Tarantino loves to quote from, so I found myself comfortable and even engrossed. But, as with Tarantino films, there came I point where I had to ask myself "Is this still a work of creative art, or has it become a work of sadism?" and "Am I still the audience, or now a voyeur?".
