The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature

Why is this so bad? I don't get how someone could release something so bad.

As dull, derivative and generic as you would expect. It’s largely harmless and plotless, and I would think loved by parents who fear even the most delicately dealt with challenging themes in children’s animation/films.

I don't get the hate for the Nut Job franchise when there's ton worse animation films being produced every year. Sure, it's nothing original, but it is well made and action-packed for a 2nd tire feature cartoon. The narrative was a little more chaotic than the first one, but it sure entertained us, everyone ranging from 2 years old to nearly 40.

Granted, those lessons get delivered in a movie that's otherwise bursting with nonstop animal mayhem, a story in which human characters are generally the worst kinds of predatory villains. But, hey, even in a bag full of otherwise tasty cashews and pecans, you're bound to chomp down on some bits of broken shells.
