To be honest, I only watched this movie because Tommy DeVito references it in Goodfellas. Turned out to be a solid western.

Nothing deep about this story, and some of the supporting actors are pretty bad (I'm not looking at you, Ward Bond or Donald Crisp). But it's still enjoyable. And though I still haven't warmed to Cagney in westerns, Bogey is great as usual. Plus, you get to see a Cagney vs Bogart fist-fight brawl! For me, this is like a clash of superheroes.

Despite looking a little silly in a cowboy hat, Jimmy Cagney does a good job in this, his first western. The Humph plays a great scoundrel as usual and the cinematography is noticeably good! 80 minutes well spent!

AWESOME surreal to see James Cagney & Humphrey Bogart star in a western together!!! Any movie where Cagney can play around is a good one and he sure was a kid as The Oklahoma Kid! A tightly manufactured Warner Bros production with action, thrills, games and romance, capturing the new-found spirit of the west for the silver screen very nicely!
