This film pretty much sucks. None of the characters have any character ( pardon the pun) and the storyline is terrible. The fight scenes unfortunately do not compensate in basically any way, as they aren't that good.

The premise of this movie is hilarious and intriguing at the same time. The final fight scene with the sparks was kind of cool back in 8th grade, but most of the effects look pretty dumb now.

What should have been an awesome martial arts film ended up as a boring movie. Jet Le pretty much lost it as he got older. The premise should have made the rest of the film great without too much effort, but the filmmakers didn't seem to want to pursue the logical course of action.

Sci-Fi action and Jet Li is like sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. This was movie was pretty sweet, and the special effects were reminiscent of The Matrix. I think Jet Li is probably one of my top pick martial arts action stars.

Nothing above typical martial arts here, with a somewhat original plotline. That is to say, it's been done before, just not done to death like many films in this genre. Worth watching if you just like Jet Li's fight scenes, which are the one saving grace of this weak film.

Li attempts his own version of an Arnie high concept vehicle; mindless entertainment on that level, even if it's a shame that the intriguing notion of a multiverse is never really dealt with or exploited; Li also lacks his forebear's sense of humour and savvy, which makes the film more difficult to become emotionally involved in. Statham and Lindo are always fun to have around, but unless I missed something – was Lindo basically vivisected only to turn up unscathed in the next scene?

Something's wrong... I kinda liked this! 'Twas fun. The action that bookends the film is really cool, and I much prefer the comicbook/videogame-like approach The One takes to the ever-popular shaky-cam BS. But it does lack good characters and dialogue. And it has pretty bad acting. And it features an infuriatingly embarrassing soundtrack. And it is endlessly plotholly.

While I do feel bad giving a review when I only get partway through the movie, this one was just SO bad. Ridiculous premise, a mixture of good-looking special effects and evidence of cheaping out on other ones.There was just no reason to continue watching after 20 minutes in.

At the peak of Jackie Chan's crossover popularity, a couple other Asian martial artists got a chance to star in Hollywood productions too. Jet LI is certainly a talented fighter, and he's a decent actor too, but he didn't have the general audience appeal that Chan's stunts and comedy has. This movie is sort of like a Van Damme hybrid of "Highlander" and "Universal Soldier" which I totally respect, and honestly had a lot of fun with.

Probably the most interesting thing is a scene of Jet Li fighting against Jet Li. I bet that wasn't easy to shoot. The explanation of all the sci-fi elements is flimsy at best, and there's a lot of what you'd expect from a "good Jet Li vs. evil Jet Li" movie. The one thing that disappointed me is that there was no "WHICH ONE IS THE EVIL ONE? WHICH ONE DO I SHOOT?" scene. But there were a handful of situations similar to that.

This movie has a really fun and interesting premise. Jet Li is outstanding in the film. If you are a fan of Li's then you must check this one out. The special effects are bad at times, they come across as cheesy. However the action sequences make up for it.

Despite good Jet Li action set pieces and pretty impressive (though now outdated) SFX the lack of plot logic kept rearing its ugly head too often to let me sit back and enjoy them. The multiverse idea was innovative and the premise of 'gaining power' by killing your 'other selves' was interesting, but the script had a lack of internal consistency, telegraphed all its twists and totally failed to tackle the huge questions and plot holes that the central premise demanded it did. Disappointing.

There is a fascinating idea of parallel universes and how some event in one of them affects others. Here James Wong is concentrated more to the action scenes than sci-fi elements, and this doomed the movie to below average rating. Sadly it is a set back to Jet Li too.
