The Onion Movie

I watched this for a full half hour before I realized it wasn't Foxnews.

Very funny. You can tell the onion has lots of experience in the satire department. Not so much in the film-making department. I suppose i can let it slide though.

It feels like Network-lite or rather Network 2: Slapstick Edition, and there's no doubt the creators were aware of this as they directly reference Network towards the end. Now that's the only complaint I have. Aside from that this is great absurd satire that I haven't seen since Kentucky Fried Movie. Some of it's great, some of it's stupid but great or stupid I still found myself laughing pretty damn hard at every single joke and that is what's most important. Also I'd watch Cockpuncher any day.

There are a lot of movies that base their entire plot on being edgy. This was the only one that could really pull it off. Just about every sketch was hilarious and left me talking about it over and over. Some of the best parts were the neckbelts, athletes with disabilities, and the lesser known stereotypes. Damn Blacks and their taffy.

I really like this kind of clever and witty satire and I quite enjoyed the film. It was essentially a series of sketches loosely tied together. Not everything in it was hilarious or brilliant, but most segments had me chuckling at least once. Definitely good for a laugh.

stereotypes, imagine a world without them ... this movie is like a really bad, extra long episode of SNL, the steven seagal part was pretty funny, some of the rest too, but over all it was pretty bad

Although I would rather have seen Cock Puncher, this wasn't bad either.

Generally a bunch of unrelated skits stuck together with a satire-heavy plot. Not bad.

Fairly boring, if you like the Onion articles you will probably have a few chuckles.

You learn all the important things that you need to know in this movie. Especially about film critics!

A collection of sketches, tied together very loosely. They are somewhat hit and miss, but they hit more often than they miss.

Some laughs but also a lot of groans too. The "rape party" is not funny in the least and it goes on for far too long.

My only hope is that like Machete, Cockpuncher someday becomes a real film.

Only if you're into that sort of thing and only after a couple of drinks.

Sadly the movie opts for farce, and the Onion's otherwise poignant satirical punch is lost to the point where a faux trailer for a new Steven Seagal movie ends up stealing the show.

Boring

Fake news are news,too

It's funny for awhile but the humor starts wearing thin pretty quickly. I'd rather just read The Onion.

Some of it worked (ie. the D&D bit, the neckbelts, lesser-known stereotypes), but most of it didn't. Could have done without the extremely thin Network-esque plot trying to tie the sketches together. And echoing the sentiment that a feature-length Cockpuncher film would be ace.

okay movie

Well, they did it for Machete, Hobo With A Shotgun and now Thanksgiving....if only someone were to make a feature length film of "Cockpuncher". That would be AWESOME!!!

While there was a lot of racial stereotyping that may offend many people, this was pretty funny. It was not really a plot but a series of sketches with some continuity. Had me laughing out loud plenty of times.

Nowhere near the level of brilliant wit that usually characterizes The Onion, but it has one or two decent jokes.

Every other filmmaker out there who is thinking about a spoof movie should be required to watch this film first...

Film mi sie podobal... nawet bardzo. Tak glupiego poczucia humoru dawno nie widzialem, idealnie wysmiewa wiele wydarzen spoleczno-politycznych ostatnioch lat. Mozna powiedziec, ze jest "Genialny w swojej glupocie"
