The Operative

Diane Kruger plays a woman who gets sucked into the spy world by a refreshing Martin Freeman. I don't think I've seen Freeman in anything serious and I was surprised by his abilities. Kruger was also very good in this film. She did a great job of acting slightly distressed while also finding her footing in this role. The film does reasonably good job of portraying daily life in Tehran as something normal and not demonizing everything about Iranian culture which many American films fall into.

Diane Krüger'den casusluk filmi. İsrail Mossad ajanı olan Rachel, İran'da ingilizce öğretmenliği yapar. İranlılarla çalışan şirketlerin bilgilerini çalar. Hızlı ama keskin kurgusu dikkatlice izlemenizi sağlıyor. Fakat yönetmen, konuya daha çok önem vermiş. Oyunculuklar arka planda kalmış. Yine de heyecanı asla düşürmüyor. Filmin sonu o kadar kötü bitiyor ki, bu mu yani diyoruz. Haydililililililililililil.

I quite enjoyed this movie up to its rather poor ending. It is somewhat unusual in that it seemed to brush over big details and make a big deal about seemingly minor ones. The spy chess game was somewhat intriguing but also confusing. Diane Kruger basically carries this. I wanted to rate it higher but retrospect some poor aspects drag it down, especially the unsatisfying final few minutes.

I quite enjoyed it up until the very unsatisfying ending. Were they out of budget? What the hell.

despite of most movies, the picture of real life in iran was more realistic than all i've seen in hollywood movies. but the ending was loose.
