This reminded me of Le Samouraï from the same year. I'm not really sure why as they are nothing alike but its the movie that kept popping into my head while watching this. Definitely one of the most restrained Kôji Wakamatsu films I've seen this far. serious bonus points for the ending, loved the ending.
