Diesel does pull off the comedic role, however it doesn't take much from him considering the comedy comes from putting his standard character in a situation that draws the comedy. Either way the result is a surprisingly humorous family film.

Our bookshelf was leaning too far from the wall and in danger of falling over into the other shelf, this movie is now wedged between the two. No joke.

I cannot imagine anyone sitting at home thinking "I really wanna go see the movie where vin diesel plays a navy SEAL that has to babysit a bunch of kids." What must have happened to anyone that has seen this movie in theatres (me included), is that they decided to go to the theatre in a group. When these groups reach critical mass there is a point where any somewhat decent movie will have allready been seen by someone in the group, so some idiot decides to go see the movie no-one has seen yet.

Granted, it's a bit silly and largely uninspired, but The Pacifier isn't completely ineffective. Moms are valued. Discipline is trumpeted. Love and respect are linked. Traitors are loathed. And the good guys win. Besides, who wants to miss watching ex-bouncer Vin Diesel use tongs to change a diaper? (pluggedin.com)

I laughed. Cute family movie, but not necessarily good. It was slightly predictable throughout, but overall I found it entertaining enough.

Very typical of the kids movie genre, it's very cheesy, predictable, and uninteresting to people over the age of 10. Kids movies don't have to suck, but this one does.

Every single scene I thought "this is it, this is the low point of the movie, it can't get worse than this". Since I thought that EVERY scene, you can tell I was usually wrong.

A delight of a gem- a stretch for Vin Deisel and some interesting surprise hooks (what is found in the boy's locker at school is shocking, but gives way to a great plot reveal). I watched it with my kids and immediately suggested to my wife and parents that they watch it as well.

My sister's ex-fiance once tried to explain to me why Vin Diesel was a good actor. Needless to say he was dumb, useless, didn't have a job, was kinda alcoholic, rarely showered, and was just generally a piece of shit. I celebrate every day knowing that he didn't end up as my brother-in-law.

As a family movie it's stupid by nature, but is nowhere near the disaster that ratings suggest. Although the acting is poor all round, dialogue is cliched and all of the characters par Wolfe are incredibly shallow, the film pulls around with some enjoyable action scenes and some nice moments. I mean when dark clad ninjas get involved, anyone can see the film was never meant to be even marginally serious in the first place. It's an enjoyable experience overall and worth the watch for a laugh.

It's by no means good. The acting isn't good, but a lot of it is by kids so it's not a huge shock. The story is cliched and lame, but it's a movie for kids so that's not a huge shock. If you show it to your kids they might get a little kick out of it and think it's kind of funny. I doubt it will have much long lasting resonance with them, which is good for you because that means you won't have to watch it more than once.

This movie haunts me. I never though much of Vin Diesel, but this time he's done something downright stupid. Movies like this are for parents to shut their children up with, but this one in particular will not only confuse children, but probably make them a little less intelligent. It's like a remake of Mr. Nanny. Who wants that? Crap!

The comedic material is not there in "The Pacifier," a lame-as-lame-can-be bust that features its share of slapstick for the sake of an easy laugh, but then does nothing to earn said easy laugh. The height of successful humor comes during a subplot involving a Firefly troop of little girls learning to protect themselves and their cookies from a bullying group of boy scouts, and putting to use what they've learned in a scene of over-the-top, non-graphic violence.

While it lacks the relative sophistication of its clear influence KINDERGARTEN COP, there’s a surprising number of amusing gags that land here, especially whenever the film rests on its fine supporting players. Diesel lacks his forebearer’s natural charisma; it feels like either Graham or Ford are a bit surplus to requirements, especially when a hilariously oddball Kane is dispatched far too early. Best somewhat incongruous touch: the unmistakable riff on the "1941 March" on the soundtrack!

I actually loved this movie as a kid. As an adult it doesn't hold the same sway but I still fondly remember the dancing puzzle.
