The Perfect Date

Affected and arch romantic comedy appears to be smugly convinced of its cleverness and "hip"-ness, but this is a dive-in to the shallow end of the rom-com pool; not necessarily a bad thing, but for the oh-so-cool detachment that infects each of the characters via the screenplay - this would work better if the lead characters were more unapologetically nasty; by shoehorning them into a "happy ending" plot, it becomes increasingly difficult to become invested in them, even on a superficial level.

I usually like these silly rom-coms but this one felt off, like there was something missing in the soundtrack, or maybe even in the chemistry between the characters.

Blaaahh - but I liked the "snappy" dialogue. *Okay

A very trope-ful romantic comedy for a modern generation, proving there really is an app for everything - I do like Noah in this role, though.
