This is kind of interesting, at least for a while, because it's just so... incredibly insane

My high rating is not for the virtuosity of the production, but for the compelling wackiness of the entire film. Hey, it made a star of Gene Autry. Also, Queen Tika is totally hot.

Boots and saddles meet rayguns and robots in this fun and funny chapterplay in which the so-called "comedy relief" is the least funny part. Genuinely surreal and full of great gadgets, including a great clubhouse for Darro and Ross. Remade years later as part of a CLIFFHANGERS TV show, but as always the original is the one to watch.

One of the most awesome 12-part serials I've seen! Considering it's, Mascot, one of those poverty row companies that made this, the production values are high, even if you can clearly see it's a 'B' (or lower) tire creation with poor acting to match. But that doesn't matter because the craziness of "The Phantom Empire" makes it a damn hilarious experience! Cowboys, a sci-fi world, robots, televisions, all kinds of gadgets, riding, flying, underworld sword fights and plenty of songs!
