I guess expecting a simple comfy film about traveling the new-born country and invigorating towsnfolks' lives with the magic of cinema was too much of an ask, as this film segues constantly into ridiculously unfocused subplots (one involving a race-horse, for some reason). What's also ridiculous is the women fawning over these gentlemen, with these scenes playing out like the worse parts of a porno.They tried to instil excitement into this tale of a cinema roadshow, but only drew excitement away
