The Pirate Fairy

DON'T JUDGE ME! My daughter 14 year old daughter wanted to watch it. Enough nods to "Peter Pan" to keep me engaged, but the quality and entertainment are poor enough that even adolescents are able to recognize it as crappy.

I will admit I gave this a lot of goodwill because it made me feel smart for figuring out who the bad guy was, even though it was as obvious as anything.

Decent plot and references to Peter Pan. Not sure why Capt. Hook kept them alive. Fav scene: fairies bursting out the door with sabres.

Well they are stretching it as far as they can; the origin story for Captain Hook, return of the prodigal daughter bit with a fairy...even a misunderstood genius trick thrown in. Still I barely stayed awake and my daugher watched it pretty perfunctorily.

Middling animated film is a comedown after the modestly enjoyable NEVERBEAST; weaker plotting this time around never really feels like anything is at stake, and the fairies feel like more of a homogeneous, stereotypical bunch. Still the animation is colourful, and for all their faults the characters are appealing, with a cute baby crocodile thrown in for good measure.

Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy supports decent animation, admirable ideas and execution regarding the powers, and overall it feels cute. Unfortunately, it's one-dimensional characters, relentless stereotyping and unoriginal plot make it somewhat of a let down. Also, the film's throwbacks to Peter Pan are simply irritating.

The touching story of a bright young woman with an eager and enquiring mind being turned to a life of crime by the patriarchy, only have to come to terms with the fact that she just switched the collection of idiot men that exploit her. Also, decent CGI, some surprisingly competent action and evermore more questions than answers about the science of fairy dust (and the secret origin of the crocodile that ate Hook’s hand revealed AT LAST).

Quite funny and enjoyable actually

We've come to expect or at least hope for a level of excellency from animated films that adults can appreciate as well as children. This film fell far short!
