The Prince and the Pauper

Great film.

Simply great swashbuckling adventure movie. Why isn't this as well-known as other Errol Flynn epics of this nature?

Not a movie for Errol Flynn fans, since he's barely in it. And for some reason, Keighley spends an ungodly amount of time poring over the particulars of the coronation ceremony. It grinds the film to a halt during what ought to be the climax.

Superb adventure film of Mark Twain's famous story. Playing the kids are the twins Billy & Robert Mauch and they carry their parts well. Errol Flynn enter the movie at 54 minutes, and while he steals his scenes, it's only a minor portion of this picture. The story sometimes dwells a little on boredom in parts. Should have used Flynn in more scenes because his presence would always boost it up. But regardless this is a highly enjoyable piece of dramatized literature that easily gets a smile.
