A welcome return to classical animation. One could surely accuse it of being a retread, trying to channel the songs and magic of old. However, when it's this good, why complain? Treated to fun, lovable characters and creatures, I smiled all the way through the familiar but always inventively and entertainingly told story. It's been a while since I've seen the classics, but The Princess and the Frog might end up being one of my favorites. It was just about, ahem, froggin' perfect. More, please...

The best hand drawn Disney since the Lion King and near to Pixar quality. Emotionally engaging characters & excellent voice acting. The music could have been a little better, but thankfully Randy Newman didn't actually perform the songs. There is some childish humor; forgivable though considering the target audience. Dr. Facilier is the coolest villain since Jafar and though the two main characters spend a little too much time as frogs, their motivations and intentions develop with rich honesty.

Hooray, Disney is back! Best villain since Jafar. Beautiful visuals. The music could have been better, but I have a strong hatred for Randy Newman. I also think there was a bit too much time where Tiana and Naveen were in frog form, but it's not too bad. The best thing about this movie is that it reminds the audience that dreams are achieved by hard work and perseverance, not miracles. It's definitely needed in a generation absolutely obsessed with Disney Princesses.

Lifted up by incredible voice acting, tremendous songs and charming characters. Ray is easily the most likable character in any animated Disney feature, and even the seemingly cliché villain and rich white girl are great. Has a lot of the shortcomings of classical Disney animation but taking the good and the bad I'd much rather see more of this than 3D animation. I'm beginning to think if it isn't hand drawn - it isn't Disney Magic. Not quite up there with the best of the best but damn close.

A return to the classic form for Disney with stellar voice work and some jaw-dropping imagery. Let's hope this is the first of many more new Disney masterpieces.
