Real elegant and manipulative flirt, so perfect for George Sanders to showcase his genius for portraying excitement in the most dull manner possible. And with a generous selection of female hearts to break, this becomes a increasingly entertaining tragedy. Lacked a little energy to elevate it to true classic status, but there is a lot to love about The Private Affairs of Bel Ami (1947). Warren William is his final screen appearance. The King of Precodes goes out with a winner.
