From the director of the goofy The Exterminator comes a gritty Jackie Chan-Danny Aiello buddy cop movie. It's terrible in (mostly) all the right ways. Jackie is fun when he's allowed to do his thing and it's not often he flat out blows people away and shouts "give me the fucking keys" while he's robbing a civilian at gun point. The opening scene looks apocalyptic for no reason and features a gang of little people wearing pirate hats. Loses fun points for being grossly pervy and racist

Jackie Chan in an eighties american buddy-cop movie? I could watch this over and over -- it has comedy, nudity, explosions, cartoonish violence, racism and piss poor american fight choreography. It's not great but it's fun.

(US version rewatch: why are women naked in the "clean room" but wearing shoes w/a fully-dressed prisoner nearby? Why is JC so ripped in the poster? Chiao's Ko = good villain. Need to watch HK version. Fav scene: long jump to the boat) This movie was so bad that Jackie Chan went on to make a better cop movie, Police Story. The fight scenes are terrible and not Jackie Chan---you could replace him with any other action star. Over the top gun fights. His wardrobe of jackets is amazing though.

Jackie's second try to breakthrough in the American market. Glickenhaus went for a grittier, tougher action movie, Jackie even swears!. Glickenhaus doesn't know how to pace his movie, establishing shots taking the rhythm out of the movie and even some of the chases moving too slow to be truly exciting. f.e. the big boat chase. The absolute biggest issue is Danny Aiello, who sticks out like a sore thumb. There is absolutely no chemistry with Jackie and in the action sequences he's completely us

It is a Jackie Chan movie. Light on memorable stunts, but decent enough to pass the time.

neon, grit 80s cop flick that tries miserably to redefine Jackie Chan’s persona for an international audience. But Chan and Aiello are surprisingly incredible together, the action is relentless and impressive, and it features great use of its Hong Kong locations. That it put a bad taste in Jackie’s mouth certainly casts a pallor over it, but it’s still a solid, if tropey, flick.

If this starred Rainer Wolfcastle, it would be the true Simpsons McBain parody. Incredibly sleazy Jackie Chan buddy cop movie with Danny Aiello. ”I never go anywhere in Southeast Asia without an Uzi”. Bless Danny Aiello.
