Francis Lederer had a thick central European accent which sometimes makes it difficult to understand him, but he kind of works around it by being a energetic charming softy as he charms his way through the movie. It takes a while for it to get going and it's almost all a romance story going carefully to works with war and religious morals as obstacles. They keep it alive with easy light spirited comedy with the girls parents being two that specialized in that kind, Charles Ruggles & Mary Boland.
