The Rainbow Thief

It has some typical Jodorowsky's elements, but overally it's dissapointing and this sentimental ending sucks.

This fantastical jumble is all fine and dandy as a bunch of wacky characters and sets, but I could not discern much of a story that made any sense. The Gilliamesque sets fall short of creating an immersing or believable world, and most scenes just involve Omar Sharif hobbling feverishly around in varying amounts of chaos, squalor or water. I did not even realise it was those two stars of Arabia, reuniting to lament their careers. Jodorowsky's grasp of storytelling appears to be a weakness.
