The Razor's Edge

Whoah. This was unexpected. Really good film about a man transitioning and finding enlightenment.

"What is Bill Murray doing in this scene?", I asked myself many times.

I think this one got a really bad rap. Though the original is superior, this remake is a solid character drama. Murray has some moments that seem to go a little too far for the time (portrayed in the film), but it all works for me.

It's worthy of a watch simply for the reason that it's Murray's first attempt at embodying a serious character. You can definitely see the beginnings of the disenchanted character that he will portray in many later roles. The movie itself is pretty good. It could have been shorter and paced a little better but it's still enjoyable.

Bill Murray gives a good performance in this film, this was one of his first mostly dramatic roles. The script has many slow spots but luckily there are several good moments as well. Overall I would recommend this film.
