Charles Starrett had done The Durango Kid (1940) and it took nearly 5 years before the movie series continued and took off, defying what Starrett would be known for. After The Return of the Durango Kid (1945) he would pretty much work as The Durango Kid for the rest of his movie career which ended in 1952. This "relaunch" was okay. Nothing too spectacular about it, but it was a solid western with a good share of music included. The type of western which was popular at the time.
