Tthis film has atmosphere and good performances, but the script fell far short of its true potential, bordering more on incoherence than ambiguity.

Canadian actor Mark O'Brien miscasts himself as a mysterious stranger with a (bad) Southern accent in a directorial debut plagued by patchy writing and an eventually fatal confusion of incoherence with ambiguity. Also annoying: careful avoidance of specific location references. Defenses of this on the grounds of universality are usually lazy cop-outs for one thing or another; in this case yet another Canadian film awkwardly de-emphasizing its Canadianness for the sake of international salability
