The Rise of Jordan Peterson

Peterson risked his livelihood by refusing to go along w/ a mandate requiring citizens to say things they didn't believe in. This attempt to compel speech is well intentioned which is what makes him so brave. This shows both sides of the argument & that Peterson's not the bigot the liberal mainstream paints him as, but not how he's inspired so many to improve. He's also most compelling when he's calmly dismantling beliefs the majority doesn't dare question & we see little of that.

It's impossible to get a good grasp of his rise AND talk about why he's so important to so many people in an hour and a half, but to Patricia's credit she did a good job with the time alotted. I know a fair bit about him so I didn't really learn much, but she did a good job of letting both the fans and the haters tell their side of the story. I mean, sometimes people dug their own graves but all you can do is let people talk. It's a pretty compelling doc, even with my knowledge of him.

informative if you want to be aware of his influence and the societal trends he has tapped into. the film provides glimpses into his psyche, formative experiences, and his motovations. it is troubling and difficult to watch similar to documentaries that look at trump's success. this documentary leaves out a lot, as the focus is mostly on peterson's personality and the time period in which he turned his youtube success into a lucrative career as a tool influencer.
