Very strange

Not a great story, and not great acting either, but it was pretty funny at times.

A definitely unconventional comedy that pulls off some interesting gags, it's quite an enjoyable movie.

This is, at very least, a fascinating glimpse into the wacky but true history of health fads past. There are plenty of good jokes but after awhile the obsessive scatology gets wearing and Broderick and Fonda don't manage to generate much emotion or interest as the leads. The whole thing ends up a little arch and inhuman.

The story of sanitarium founder Kellogg is actually hysterical! with great casting of hopkins as the (very strange) man. Well worth seeing

It's fairly uneven in quality, with some bits dragging on without really being interesting. It's still good though, as well as being goddamn hilarious. One of the most far-out comedies I've ever seen.

A sometimes hilarious look at a turn of the century health clinic and a collection of charlatans and con men. Anthony Hopkins is Dr Kellogg who is driven by a genuine desire to help people but wholeheartedly believes in his unusual brand of quack medicine. John Cusack is the hapless nephew trying to setup a cereal business with the shady con man played by Michael Lerner. Bridget Fonda is exceedingly beautiful in this movie. Dana Carvey's performance was ridiculous. Fun movie full of silliness.
