Really mediocre..sorry Clint !!

The Rookie is completely self-conscious, megalomaniacal cheese, a master class in Road House existentialism and Steven Segal philosophy. In this topsy-turvy world, you can say, "Bust my chops" without irony; Raul Julia is German; getting kidnapped leads to hot sex; shooting sprees at LAX are A-OK; Charlie Sheen is an obvious replacement for Clint Eastwood's badass-ity. Burn a bar down? Bust open a door with your motorcycle? Fly out of an exploding building in a car? What consequences?

I wanted to like this, really. I love clint's flick as a rule, as well as sonia Braga, but this was just lame

Quite a lot of fun. Who cares about all the problems that the film has? You are getting to see motherfucking Clint Eastwood for 2 hours. So it's great.

Meta as fuck, a literal reference to Eastwood handing down the mantle of action star to a younger actor, culminating in the leaving-behind of police work (acting) and becoming Sheen's boss (director). Also in this movie a woman rapes a man.

Very run-of-the-mill cop film that seems to suggest, rather strangely, that achieving maturity or becoming a man amounts to embracing extreme violence and reckless indifference to everything except whatever it is one happens to be bothered about or interested in at that moment.

Probably Eastwood's worst (and I'm a fan). Avoid it.

WTF IS THIS MOVIE

As known as the film Clint made to make some money after Bird and White Hunter Black Heart. So, it really feels like a Dirty Harry spin-off and a vehicle to Charlie Sheen playing some sort of LA playboy turned into a DH-esque cop.

Eastwoods worst behind the camera. Probably his worst in front of it too!

Hits all the clichés and I wasn't asking for anything less. I have become an action movie Charlie Sheen apologist all of a sudden and I fear there's no going back.

é um filme de ação, só. o começo é bem chato, mas as cosias melhoram quando o Sheen explode. gosto dessa explosão meio foda-se que o Clint fez aqui e fez de novo em Imperdoáveis (e já tinha feito antes em Pele rider). claro que não passa de um filme de ação barato, mas porra, é legal.

If I was Eastwood I would buy every copy of this film and destroy it in fire. Who in the hell got this idea to cast Raul Julia as 'ze german' villain? Dialogs are pathetic attempts at fun one-liners. Plot has a holes bigger than Eastwood's paycheck. This movie seems to suggest that it's cool not to wear helmet riding your motorbike, especially if you are a cop. Wow.

Very poor.

This is a badly made action film. The script has some outrageous moments that do not work. The two lead actors Clint Eastwood and Charlie Sheen do not have good chemistry together. Most of the action scenes are forgettable. Definitely skip this action movie.
