The Room Nearby (2009)
Eon-ju is a private tutor struggling to make ends meet. She lives in a packed boarding house and is desperately seeking her own room as an escape from the hopelessness she feels. She comes across an old mansion whose doors are always open for the homeless to come and go. While seeking refuge from her life in the mansion, she meets the owner, Seok-hee, and bonds with her over their mutual feelings of being stuck in life. (by Space Pope)

As a person in his mid-twenties who feels directionless and miserable, a lot of this film hit really close to home. It very successfully portrays the overwhelming pressure from society to chase success with unshakable vigour and the self-loathing that can come from feeling like you don't deserve to complain about that pressure. It's a slow burn of a film, with little conflict not generated by the characters' own insecurities. I wish I hadn't watched this while feeling depressed.
