One of the better pure popcorn actioners of recent years. Scott does his best to ruin the movie by being annoying as possible, but he's more than off-set by the rest of the cast, especially The Rock, who just oozes with charisma every time he's onscreen (which is often). Dawson does a good job as the lone female, and Walken cuts his teeth on a few choice monologues, especially one about the tooth fairy. Berg brings a slick directorial style that makes you forget this is a Vince McMahon film.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has more screen presence than some give him credit for, and he's perfect for this kind of lighthearted, ass-kicking throwback to a simpler era of guilt-free action. Chris Walken couldn't be any better cast as the bad guy, and wins a laugh a line.

Actually a stupid story really, but entertaining as hell at times. Combines some good action with some funny moments which makes this an enjoyable film.

This is good action-fueled fun, not without its heavy dose of laughter either. The Rock actually comes through as very likable movie star, and boy was I shocked after the disaster that was "The Scorpion King." You have to be entertained here, especially with Christopher Walken and Sean William Scott at his side.

Yes it's a formulaic action-comedy, but it does the formula so well that it's still very entertaining. Dwayne "don't call me The Rock" Johnson is the bad ass that would rather be a chef, Sean William "don't call me Stiffler" Scott plays the comedic relief, and Christopher "don't do a hacky impression of me" Walken plays the dastardly villain. The action scenes are pleasing and when it tries to be funny it mostly delivers. Immensely watchable.

A really fun little action movie that expertly showcases The Rock's incredible charisma and screen prescence. Walken is typically fantastic as the bad guy, and the comedy moments are generally very well played. Would have rated it higher if not for the always grating Seann William Scott.

The Rundown is a forgettable, generic action-buddy-last job crossover that is nowhere near worth spending the time on. The action scenes come first in a film like this -- which is generally fine -- but because they're not inventive or even all that fun to watch, they bored me. The hand-to-hand scenes are ruined by The Rock having to use wrestling moves, the other action scenes aren't enjoyable, and the whole project isn't worth watching.

A very satisfying combination of the serious and the silly, with some superbly choreographed and photographed fight scenes. Although, I am confused about the message about guns; are Berg, Vanderbilt and Stewart suggesting that we should strive to not use guns, or are they arguing that we should accept that guns are required in some circumstances?

Agreeable action film in the blatant vein of an 80s style Norris/Big Arnie action comedy (with a little INDIANA JONES/ROMANCING THE STONE thrown in). Fits its bill nicely, even if it is so derivative, you might want to just throw on a real deal 80s film and be done with it. Well-performed, with Johnson and Scott making for an effectively bickering action team, and Walken given the opportunity to “Walken” it up to the nth degree, though his villain could have probably done to be a little nastier.

Viewed July 31, 2021. Not without its minor charms (particularly the very fun Christopher Walken villain performance), but this was made at the point where computer effects began to supersede practical effects, and I think that's why all of the action sequences are dull.

It's dumb and mostly plays by the rules, but it's surprisingly fun and contains some creative action pieces. Dwayne Johnson has a lot of charisma which saves this from being awful--it does remind one of the disappointing direction Johnson's career took after though, as a certain special someone symbolically passes the action hero torch to him early on in the film. Johnson should stick to these types of films instead of children films.

Another action film which, for all its flaws, still has a lot to admire. This one has the gift of unpredictability, both in the hyperactive visual flourishes the director uses and the unexpected tangents that take place (wire-fu sequences, Christopher Walken's tooth fairy speech etc.) that are funny. It also helps that the cast is not only a solid one - with Dwayne Johnson being a great lead - but that everyone (including Ewen Bremner wonderfully) gets a moment in the spotlight throughout it.
