Evidently Oxford doesn't teach its nuclear physicist students about fusion until their second year. Thank God for the Americans to explain it all. Hmmm.

A fun movie for Val Kilmer, but not much fun for the audience. The Saint had a very dull story with not much action. I like that the hero resorted to wit instead of violence to combat enemies and get out of sticky situations, but the movie just wasn't interesting enough to make it work.

Lackluster spy flick barely makes for a half-interesting thriller. Val Kilmer has some impressive accents but Elizabeth Shue does little here, their chemistry fizzles, and the plot and villains are forgettable.

Kilmer and Shue claim to have rewritten the script. I believe them. And Shue as a giggly scientist keeping the secret formula for cold fusion in her bra... well. Enough said.

One of the most unexciting action movies ever made. Kilmer and Noyce can be good but they sure aren't putting forth any effort here.

A C-plus Bond film meets a D-minus Mission: Impossible. Kilmer gets weird but to muted effect and little consequence.

Stupefyingly dull and inane spy thriller seems to want to be the thinking man's MISSION IMPOSSIBLE, but blows its wad early on with Shue's laughably simplistic science lecture, going on to lurch clumsily from action sequence to action sequence, with Kilmer a spectacularly unconvincing master of disguise. A murky, convoluted and ultimately numbing screenplay finishes the job, though if you have a fondness for Serbedzija's ethnic schtick, he is his usual enjoyable self.

"The Saint" had a story with potential, but forming it to the TV show's style took away any edge it might have possessed.

Tons of potential, wasted. Lots of great wide-angle shots of crowds in Red Square, brilliant disguises and momentary pieces of great atmosphere. Unfortunately these positives are overshadowed by a poor plot, weak script, and some unbelievably cheesy scenes. Too bad. If you're looking for a quality spy thriller to watch, keep looking.

Not quite as good as I was expecting, but for a 90's flick, it was okay - the portrait of the Russian mafia was terrible, though (all knowing and seemingly everywhere). Somewhat unbelievable plot line, but the suspense was decent.

Entertaining "suspense" film. The style and soundtrack are completely dated now, which is strange to say since it feels like it came out pretty recently. Kilmer is fun to watch as usual.

Nothing about it is clever for a spy movie, it's not really a good romance movie, it's not a good action movie, and the disguises Kilmer wears don't look like they'd fool a blind man. I can't say anything bad about this movie, but it's completely pointless and devoid of excitement.

You know you have a bad movie on your hands when the Russians speak accented English with each other, and then some lines of actual Russian are thrown in every now and then for good measure. The film kind of wants to be slightly cerebral about the main character's identity issues and that stuff, but whatever might have come of that (which isn't much) is smashed to pieces by the neverending parade of cliches that fill out the rest of the movie's far too long runtime. Also... Val Kilmer. Ugh.
