The Sheik

Watched it last year and can't remember much about it. Guessing it wasn't super informative or historically accurate.

Its interesting but not as good or in depth as I had hoped.

I have to imagine that anyone interested in watching this documentary in the first place won't get much out of it. It's not very informative, glossing over mostly common knowledge regarding The Sheik's career, personal demons, and recent resurgence as a social media phenomenon. The man himself is charismatic enough to carry the documentary, and a number of other familiar faces make appearances, but it's all kind of boring.

The Sheik provides an interesting look at the life of one of the most notorious professional wrestlers. While it suffers from lack of WWE footage, some low budget recording and even some spelling errors in the subtitles(?), it still delivers a compelling documentary. I learned numerous things I previously knew nothing of. It sheds the light on some dark moments in his life and you will even bust a gut laughing at his astonishing humor. Pro wrestling fans need to check this one out. 3.5 STARS
