The Small World of Sammy Lee

Don't let the simple story fool you, the slick cinematography makes this description of SoHo in the 60s a doozy.

It's a shame that this is so ridiculously underseen. So I'll try to convince you to seek it out, okay? Okay, here goes: It has wonderful acting, excellent writing, terrific use of setting and it's superbly paced. This movie just flows. It's completely riveting and, to me, the cinematic equivalent of a unicorn: a perfect film. Every time I rewatch it I find it as exciting and exhilarating as on my first viewing. It's funny too. And sexy. Oh, just watch it already!

A fun ride in a just-pre-Swinging-Sixties London full of small-time hustlers, seedy dudes, and naive foolish women because it’s still the 60s lol. If you want an old-timey British Uncut Gems, this is as good as it gets.
