There's a good 90-minute spy comedy in here desperate to have some body parts cut off and dumped in an Eastern European harbour.

Frothy entertainment is great fun all the way, largely thanks to the winning and likable performances from Kunis and McKinnon, who surprisingly play it fairly straight (under the circumstances), helping the mix of graphic violence and wacky humour combine very well. A slightly overextended third act is the only real negative, but the film overall surprises as one of the most consistently entertaining 'blockbusters' in recent memory.

I probably enjoyed this movie more than I should have. The crazy antics of Kate McKinnon were way over the top. Mila Kunis was very good and very lovely. I liked the excitement, whacky humor and unlikely events that permeated the entire production. The plot was basically ridiculous, especially at the end. Worth watching and good for a few laughs.

So I wasn’t expecting R violence with my mild chuckles. Cool mom movie.

I wasn't expecting much about it; it's a spy-comedy movie. So I assumed there must be tons of cliches, terrible jokes, supposed to be shocking twists etc. And I found them all in this movie. But there are some parts I liked. Especially Kate McKinnon; she's so talented. The movie is watchable to spend some time.

mckinnon ruined this for me. it felt like the whole movie, which is already mediocre, took a backseat to her antics. the goof was too forced, the chemistry is lacking, and the script is just bland.

I laughed, and quite frankly that was really all that I needed from this movie. I had no delusions going into this that it was going to be some cinematic masterpiece. There are no stakes, nothing in the narrative particularly matters, and the performances are only adequate, but this isn't really a movie that needs high quality in those terms. It just needs to be funny. For the most part, this is funny, and Susanna Fogel, notable for not much up to now, succeeds here as both writer and director.

Another movie in which Americans rampage through Europe unabated. The opening scene intertwines a conventional male driven action sequence with our female protagonist's desolate birthday party. The former edited to have a muted colour palette to let you know it is neither important nor fun. There are a few genuine laughs, but overall the movie relies on its quirkiness to distract from the nonsensical cliché-ridden plot. If you're in the mood for McKinnon, you're covered otherwise avoid.

It is the script writers that should have been dumped The actors do their best with the roles but unfortunately they can't overcome a weak script. Overall this movie is disappointing.

The comedy is boosted by an unexpectedly graphic level of violence. The shock somehow makes the jokes within the action scene work that much better than if this was a milder PG13. Ok I'm not about to talk death and comedy juxtaposition over The Spy Who Dumped Me so I'll wrap this up. Probably if you think you'll hate this movie you're spot on. I'm not gonna sell anyone on it. But if this specific niche is your thing you'll get a few good chuckles out of it.

USA Soccermom-movie so a lot of guns, death, knives, war, violence, pain, betrayal, blood, xenophobia, and, since it's 2019, vagina-jokes. Kate McKinnon can pull it off, the rest can't.

I am happy this film was made. I really enjoyed it. McKinnon cemented herself as top comedic talent in this film. Kunis was pretty good. The character actors were great too. The script was good. The sincere moments between the stars were sweet and nice. Which is why I would use this movie as exhibit 1 in my argument that men and women want different things when it comes to movies and Hollywood doesn't do a good enough job of understanding this because it's still a boys club for the most part.

It was a fun comedic action film. Probably could have cut a bit (including the entire introductory exposition). Romance plot felt forced. Mila Kunis was disappointingly bland and maybe even miscast. The real star is Kate McKinnon who steals every scene with good and self-aware timing. If this movie does well at the box office there will probably be a sequel. Personal pet peeve that didn't affect the score: I don't like movies where guns are the magical solution with autoaim.

Yes, everything Kate McKinnon does is funny. Does that mean the rest of the movie can be very stupid? I guess so.

A bit crude at times and some jokes are hard to pass, but it is a comedy for you, folks should lower their expectations. The action side was still fun and entertaining even if simple. It was different to have loser ladies fumbling around and managing to do stuff: usually the characters are stoner/loser guys instead.

Are Audrey and Morgan looking at their former selves, these vapid and giggly twenty-somethings, kind of disgusted with what they see but experienced enough to manipulate it? Or are they looking at the idea of young women in movies, nearly completely useless in a genre almost always dominated by men? There’s something here, but my brain was too bored by the third act to try and put it all together.

Watched this purely for Kate McKinnon and she was most definitely the best part. I mean, Mila is fine as always, but McKinnon steals the show. I mean, It's pretty fun I guess.

This was actually a pretty fun movie and much better than "Spy". The leads have great chemistry so its easier to forgive when about half the jokes don't land. The well shot fight scenes and violence were a plus and even though it was too long and it had its slow parts I found myself entertained. This is a fun watch it and forget it type film.

If you want the most fantastic story ever, look elsewhere. If you want to laugh at stupid shit, this is a solid choice. Filled with explosions, a plot that isn't horrible, and Kate McKinnon carrying the whole thing with her expressions.

"The targets are 2 dumb American women." Bwa ha ha. This isn't as good as Spy, but it's occasionally funny with a similar mix of raunch and bloody violence. +5 for Gillian. And +5 for that evil chick's car. Mostly I think the director wanted to spend a couple months in Europe. Can't blame her. Better than The Tourist.

I like McKinnon and Kunis and their chemistry here isn't the worst thing ever but this is a tonal mess with graphic gritty scenes of violent action interspersed with lame slapstick/low brow humour, and neither lady can make it work with the material presented to them. My wife should be the target audience for this and she also thought this was dreadful

Anything that Mila Kunis does is gold. The movie was moderately funny, and the action was great. There were some scenes that almost derailed the movie, but overall the movie held its own. The end of the film indicates there will be Pt. 2. Though I don't think I will watch it as it doesn't seem to be too interesting.

It could have been so much better than it was. Acting-wise, Kunis, Theroux, and Heughan were great. Kate McKinnon is starting to get a little annoying, but she's not horrible. Gillian Anderson was lovely in her small role, and Hasan Minhaj killed it. It's a little long, and a lot of the jokes didn't quite land for me. The romantic subplot felt a bit needless. Not the worst comedy, but nothing great either.

Once again, Kunis is a pretty lead with nothing to do other than stand next to a comedic actor that tries too hard to be funny. The plot is annoyingly stupid and McKinnon's comedy hit rate is too low.

Much like Kate McKinnon, it starts out strong but becomes an irritating slog fast. It has two spectacular fight sequences, but they happen too early to save it, and don't really involve the protagonists. Here's hoping that Fogel gets to direct a proper action movie someday.

The central friendship is passably engaging but doesn't explode with chemistry and elsewhere, there's just a dumb plot (MacGuffin-driven with a lazy climax-see the out-of-nowhere appearance of the cops to arrest the right bad guy), generic secondary characters (Russian villains, shoehorned-in love interests), bland character drama (neither character's insecurity is that believable), and mostly forgettable comedy (passive-aggressive Tess and the thumb-stick are probably the best bits).

The clashing tones of screwball comedy, hyper violence, and nonsensical spy shenanigans add up to a film that doesn't really work. There are enough funny moments from McKinnon to keep me reasonably entertained. It didn't need to be so long, complicated, and gory -- more laughs please.
