Though Don Ameche was a little annoying, being very over-the-top numerous times, and while this is barely an accurate account of historic happenings, this provides a pleasurable love story. One which features physical handicap. That's something very rare for a Hollywood picture during this period. They did make Bell's wife less handicapped. I guess they didn't want to cripple Loretta Young's performance too much. But she was a doll. So beautiful. And the real highlight in this film.
