The Sunchaser

Cimino's writing is often a point of contention, but he wasn't necessarily any better at picking scripts either. Sunchaser is a rather humdrum road film about two men from opposite ends of the social spectrum (class and race) that inevitably find common ground and is completely predictable in its narrative development. Cimino's offbeat approach does make us forget this occasionally when it isn't distracting us with bizarre musical cues, but the trite Navajo 'spirituality' is tough to swallow.

Interesting film, I wish this was not his last film. As much overly dramatic crap and vulgar comedy that comes out of hollywoood in the past 15 years, his movies really could have stood out.

A mystical road and (eventually) buddy movie. Cimino is typically lackadaisical with the story line, but on point with everything else.

Great acting, but the story could be little better. Still, its a really good movie.

Fairly typical 90's Hollywood product following all tropes of the genre.Predictable. The science-mysticism opposition could be interesting but is not explored enough and therefore too much on the nose.
