The Swarm

A widow deals with the consequences of blood-sucking EU agricultural regulations. Indulges in current clichés such as an opening overhead shot following a winding road through the forest and a spouse or father who has suicided prior to the events of the film, along with a troubled adolescent girl dealing with mean boys in town. Seems to have wanted to use horror as a generic frame to explore family drama and related issues, but achieves little in this regard to justify the viewer's time.

I expected the movie to take a different route, ie more post-apocalyptic horror, instead it's much more a drama than a horror movie. Still enjoyable

Well-acted and all, but the story goes waffles back and forth between family drama and creature feature for far too long before settling on neither.

Stupid and pointless. The ending is hilariously bad. This is like a well produced Lifetime thriller. I can't think of any reason to watch this, unless you want to watch a well produced Lifetime-thriller-like movie.

J'ai été pris par cette histoire de précarité. Cette mère qui bascule dans la folie uniquement pour de l'argent en réalité, et notamment pour assurer un certain confort à ses enfants, c'est osé. Et puis le film vire au cauchemar, avec des sauterelles affamées. Imaginez ce que vous voulez, ce sera toujours mieux. Suliane Brahim (dont le jeu ressemble trait pour trait à celui d'une Charlotte Gainsbourg, physiquement aussi), porte le film sur ses fines épaules.
