Animation was good... voice acting was very good. Story felt simplistic and yet still had some plot holes. It's not gonna bowl you over with how great it is, but you won't demand your money back or anything.

I loved the book so to no surprise I really liked the film. Broderick was the perfect choice to voice Despereaux. I really suggest seeing it, even if some critics and others don't. Grade: B Plus

Despereaux has a good nostaligc feel and generally works pretty well, although obviously directed solely at younger cinema-goers from the outset. The animation is occasionally impressive and the film is refreshingly free of modern pop culture references, leaving the reasonably interesting world portrayed on screen to set the medieval scene alone. It is let down slightly by a weak story and some plotholes. I still found it enjoyable enough, lying just slightly above the standard CGI production.

The Tale of Despereaux doesn't exactly reflect the enchantment and nostalgic appeal of the novel, but it gets the basics right. The animation is phenomenal and its equally matched up with some marvellous voice acting from Hoffman and Broderick. Still sort of average in its ordinary form.

I really really want to love this movie, but its not happening. Despite all the great production aspects of this film, the plot just sucks so much, so disjointed and too many characters, meandering around aimlessly. On the plus side: Beautiful animation, a story with actual danger, death, and murder, above-average voice work (Tony Hale!), and no pop culture references, Smashmouth songs, or hip-hop dance sequences.

çok absürd bir sınıfsal okuma yapılabilir. tabii ciddiyet sıfır. kesin bu şekilde komünist bir sinema öğrencisi yorum yapmıştır. saçmalama: sıçanlar: ezilmiş halk (gün ışığına hasret, fabrikalara kapatılmış, kırıntılarla beslenen) fareler: korkak orta sınıf. insanlar: soylu burjuva kepçe kulaklı fare: orta sınıftan üst sınıfa prensesi kurtararak ulaşan fare korsan fare: emekçi sınıfı simgeliyor. burjuva ile çatışmak yerine orta sınıfa yönelme

the story managed to get me pretty excited with so many things happening, but along the way had become disjointed and overbearing. dustin hoffman (i'm pretty sure im going to start calling him the hoff from now on), anyway the hoff offers some great voice acting and portrays a complex character, whereas broderick's character crosses the line of innocence and into one-dimensionalism.

Efsane oyuncuların dublaj yaptığı ilginç animasyon. 1 sıçan ve gemide çalışan 1 tayfa, 1 ülkede çorba günü kutluyor. Şizofren aşçı, saraya çorba sunarken, sıçanda çorbaya düşüyor. Sefiller ve Üç Silahşörler'e gönderme yapan film, yapım açısından basit. İyi 1 öykü koyu renklerde yapılmış. Sevdiğiniz arkadaşlar kötü olabilir. Sonu iyi bitse de verdiği mesaj, kötülük kötülüğü iyilikte iyiliği doğurur. Fareden dost, sıçandan düşman çıkar

I really don't understand those bad criticks in that case. Despereaux is one of the most charming cgi movie's of the last years in my mind. the animation is close to pixar niveau, great voices, a handsome "hero" with great ambitions.funny & heartwarming, a nice fairytale!

The animation not quite you-know-who, the story nothing like you-know-who. Clearly aimed only towards the kids - no pop culture references here. Cute little mouse, though.

An engaging animated fairy tale. It won't blow you socks off like some others and the intertwined storylines might be a bit complicated for the younger audience but a nice (and different) animation style and god voice acting.

This was a cute movie, but had it stayed true to the book, it would have been a lot better. The whole vegetable man, what was that about? And the roscuro character was developed totally different in the book, alot darker. It had alot of the good lines from the book, but alot were left out. Kate DiCamillo is an awesome author, its just a shame this didn't make a good transition.
