When it's bad it's almost unbearable but the CAT scandoff is the most brilliant short piece of comedy I've seen outside of any consecutive ten minute sequence pulled from any one of the Police Academy movies.

Hit and miss. The narration scenes with Paul Rudd are mostly just annoying, and some vignettes just run themselves into the ground (the doctor in the prison). When it's on though, it's absolutely hilarious. "I am the vvvvvvagina man."

I was really into it up until the prison rape vignette, which was just appalling. Too bad. I thought the rest was pretty funny.

A terrible, terrible comedy. The writing sucks and most of the acting is just as bad. There were a couple of good sketches and the occasional funny moment but it was definitely not worth sitting through the rest to see them.

I wanted to like this since I like the State and Wet Hot American Summer, but in the end it's too uneven. I chuckled a bit, frequently during the segments with Mexican Jesus, Catscan rivalry, and the first part of the doctor's story. But a lot of it seems kind of lazy - the absurdity that this kind of humor employs needs some sort of edge to it, otherwise there's a risk of staying too close in a "comfort zone" & relying on a single absurd situation and beating it to the ground.

I was so disappointed. I expected much more from David Wain after WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER, but I would've done things much differently if I were him.

The Ten is a film that I enjoyed more in theory than in practice. It could have been very funny, but it was unsure of what would work and what wouldn't, so it was all over the place in an attempt to cover all the bases. It has humorous moments, most of the actors are committed, and it has a premise that could easily work well if handled correctly, but it doesn't come together as anything special. You have no reason to watch The Ten, and you'd be better off spending your time on something else.

The first segment is great. Everything else is like a sitcom.

Blasphemy, mocking of the ten commandments, making fun of death and all the tragedies man can face. Should be fun. Shouldn't it? The first four or five stories were fun and I really enjoyed it but soon my brain went so numb it didn't matter what happened. The storyline between shorties was just stupid. The surrealism was hilarious though.

God this movie was terrible. I'm not a big fan of these episodic movies to begin with, but wow this didn't help. Even Paul Rudd couldn't save this movie and his parts weren't even funny. Probably only 2 parts made me laugh, Liev Schreiber's and Winona Ryder's other than that the all fell flat. Really under utilized a lot of really funny people.

Like The State itself, it doesn't always work, but when it does, it's hilarious. It's just a shame those hilarious moments didn't pop up more often.

Hilarious in that Wet Hot American Summer kind of way, though some of it is just too dumb to be that funny. Lots of great cameos and gags.

I'm glad Ken Marino landed on Children's Hospital. Parts of this movie were very funny, while others not so much. Tv suits this kind of humor a lot better IMO as a feature length comedy on the ten commandments felt kinda pointless.

criminally underrated. the score is too high of course as the film is very uneven, but it deserves a push upwards. how this got such a lukewarm reception baffles me, i mean come on how do you hold a straight face through any part of the segment with liev schreiber, or the as a goof guy thing with ken marino, or lying rhino and the dogs with the stds or corddry and the whole rape thing, or etc.

So so comedy loosley using anything to do with the various commandments as an excuse for ridiculous situations. Inconsistent but I did laugh out loud a few times.

Mostly funny stuff here and definitely worth a watch at least to see all the famous funny people before they became super well known. Some of the stories are just too long-winded but the total commitment of the actors saves them from becoming awful.

This movie was not good. It was weird and blah... The acting was poor, the plot was bad. Not recommended.

Less than the sum of its parts and thus wasteful of its impressive cast, The Ten is likely to only appeal (and then only partially) to comedy nerds and fans of The State and its later spin-offs. There are some clever and funny bits to be sure, but they're paired with some dreadful stuff that fails to register anything more than a brief smirk.

A mixed bag. Some of the humor is outright bizarre, and a fair amount of it is of the newfangled "whatever is most offensive is most funny" variety, so if you love rape jokes then this is the movie for you. Props, though, for having way more male nudity than female--that almost never happens. It hits the best comedic balance in the CAT scanner skit. The cartoon near the end is also really engaging and very well animated.

It definitely has some misses, but overall pretty funny. The first sketch is definitely the worst, so stick it out past that before you decide if you're in.

I love Wet Hot American Summer, and the entire David Wain crew, so I was really looking forward to this, but in the end, it's not as good as I had hoped. It's just really hit or miss, and while the hits are reallllllly funny, theyre just far outnumbered by the misses. Still though. Those are some funny funny hits.

A great cast and a certain mix of absurdity and unabashed nastiness provided an entertaining first third with a few laughs, which allowed me to barely forgive the remainder of the movie which just wasn't funny enough.

If you liked The State on MTV then you'll probably dig The Ten. It's like an extended episode of the show. Some of it works, some doesn't, but it's entertaining nonetheless.

"The Ten is, I guess, sacrilegious in the strictest sense of the term, and its interest in investigating the commandments can be skin deep, as they're often used as mere pretext for ribald nonsense." - Nick Schager

A really good cast, but an exceptionally lame movie. It is almost entirely tasteless, stupid and not very entertaining. Cheap sets. Amateur animations. Incredibly poor writing. Abysmal directing. A few bad jokes are somewhat funny but run into the ground. Mostly it is just a hard to watch series of insults to your intelligence. Campy and dumb.
