In 1974 Tobe Hooper released a film that was an intense study of homicidal madness and psychological horror. It has since become a cult phenomenon and the most successful independent horror film ever made. This is the inclusive documentary of the making of this legendary film. This film goes deep into footage from the film, never-before-seen production photos and interviews with the cast. (amazon.com)

Interviewed are only the actors playing the "family" (sans the "victims" and filmmakers): Hansen (Leatherface), Neal (The Hitchhiker), Siedow (The Cook) and Dugan (Grandpa), which makes this only a slice of a "making of" the greatest horror movie of all times. With outtakes, on-set anecdotes and retrospective impressions, it is still an insightful and fascinating documentary, that genuinely deepened my appreciation of a work that already had my utmost admiration.
