drink like a fish, hook up with anne heche and still get a piece of that holy deal, man this movie made me want to be an atheist priest. it has some smart moments, and it sticks to the vatican hard and often, but the story is not really concluded well. On a side note, Harris really commands respect as a priest.

Far from perfect, but an interesting movie about an unusual subject

Solid drama about the search for faith through doubt. Harris is always engaging, and while Heche's presence is more than annoying, she plays an outsider character, which helps. Director Agnieska Holland adds several excellent touches to the film, drawing out certain moments and allowing the actors to do their thing without constantly cutting.
