At Folsom Prison, several inmates escape...including killer Arnold Kluger, who swore revenge on the detective and district attorney who convicted him. Despite precautions, the two men are soon in Kluger's power, together with showgirl Carol whom he suspects of informing on him. At a shack in the California desert, Kluger, two henchmen, and four hostages wait, and wait, for an escape plane that may never come. (imdb)

Grimy low budget noir and it does very well with it. Not much complexity, just a quick entertaining ride with Charles McGraw.

OK gangster hostage "B" movie with a fine bad guy performance from Charles McGraw, and solid work from everybody else. A few good directorial moments from Feist too. But there's nothing compelling or memorable here.

The Threat (1949) had enough thrills, but it's not like a Michael O'Shea vehicle was going to totally have me exited. Typical crooks in hiding scenario with the twists coming at a acceptable pace. Had some hard-hitting action at times, but no escaping it being a B-attempt.
