The Three Caballeros

It's hilarious how much time the movie spends on Donald Duck's attempts to get laid.

Enjoyable in bits and pieces though the lack of cohesion does hold it back.

The Three Caballeros is just crazy, bouncy, musical, psychedelic fun. You can tell the animators had fun too.

A virtually plotless musical adventure with a Latin American theme, this film is basically a string of loosely connected sequences giving the animators free reign to experiment and show off. It is this very aspect of the film that gives it its charm; these sequences vary from charmingly simple (the tale of a penguin who decides to move to Galapagos) to the downright hallucinogenic (a lot of these sequences are like Busby Berkeley on speed). A really fun diversion, cohesion be damned.

The overall story did not flow well it felt like a bunch of mini cartoons smashed together but it was fun. Lots of music, dancing, and bright colors. I see younger children enjoying the movie.

Kind of dull until the Aracuan Bird hijacks the movie and turns it into a complete acid trip for the last third or so. And I do enjoy Donald Duck, even if the motivation for using him as a connecting device through the movie is paper thin.

Donald Duck is pretty much the best.

Some of the world's most talented animators decide to screw around for a bit. It's impressive from a technical standpoint, and there are some quality gags, but there are misses and it doesn't really hang together.

The beginning shorts are easily the best, but the animation is a treat. My eyes loved the last 10 minutes, which does the "This is when the animators did LSD" classic trope so well. Donald Duck is a good boy and deserves to fuck

This Disney journey down the continent drowns in South American music. A lot of the short stories have a lot of charm, but the entire scenario gets a little tiring after a while. Fun that they try to combine live-action with their animation style. Not sure they picked the right situations to make it interesting, but at least it was a way to make this a little bit different than what they've been doing. Regardless, this feels more like a experiment than what's made Disney movies special.

When Donald's friends from South America send him a gift containing a projector reel and film about a penguin, a sorcerer who happens to be a parrot, and a Mexican roadrunner genie, all manners of insanity ensue.

Good animation Disney.

Very much a love letter to South and Central America during WWII, it feels like it, and it drags the enjoyment potential down, not allowing it to age well.

One of the better Disney films. And by Disney films, like, not their... Disney Disney films. Ah, fuck it. It's alright.

Apparently, they had a lot of psychedelic drugs at Disney Studios in 1944. Alice in Wonderland doesn't even come close to the final segment lol.

Might be one of Disney's worst films for some, but for me this is a nostalgia trip and I loved the little story about Polo the penguin who is always cold and wants to live in the tropics, also I like all the weirdness of this film, but with this weirdness comes very boring parts and not very child suited like Donald and his friends chasing women in the beach.

Not bad but probably only for the Disney completionist.

This movie shows some promise to begin with, but all the live action segments stop it dead in the tracks and make you look for the fast-forward button. Also the Caballero dynamic is seriously underplayed.

Astoundingly boring (especially if you're not into Latin music) and Donald's constant horniness was super gross.

A great movie to escape the pressure of the war at the time, the main song was terrific and the animation was good as well.
