The Tiger Hunter

A bit rough around the edges, especially in its opening minutes where it really does come across as a TV movie, but by the end it won me over with humour, charm, and a mother's wisdom, its few shallow tropes forgotten beneath unique characters, their hilarious americanisms, and a feel-good ending. Funny and heartwarming.

This is a good film. Danny Pudi is very good here in the lead role. The script is not ground breaking bit ii works. Overall I would recommend this film.

The Tiger Hunter is a immigrant's tale that is entirely mediocre. Khan's screenplay seems to just want to retread familiar ground; the intro entrenched in Indian movie stereotypes (including a dance number), the plot a litany of check-boxes of the stages appropriation. Half the dialogue is anachronistic to the time period, the other half feels forced. Pudi is a disappointing lead, lucky Manji steals every scene he is in.
